Have you ever had a fantasy or a day dream of another life? One with magic and whimsy? Who hasn’t had a thought or two like that, right?
Well, that’s where the name Roanwood comes from. This apothecary is named after a girl, Erin Roanwood. She is like an extension of myself and everything I’ve always dreamt of and romanticized ever since I was a little girl. Erin is a druid and a gifted healer with a deep connection to nature. She can talk to animals; a lot of them are her friends, much like a princess.
Erin has magic flowing through her veins. She is a healer with a lot of love to give. She travels wherever the wind takes her and heals the people she meets along the way.
She doesn’t have a 9-5 job, she isn’t stuck in any mundane lifestyle. She is a free spirit, always her most authentic self, and most importantly, she is happy!
That’s why I decided to name my shop after her. It’s a way to capture her spirit in our world.
Now that you’ve met Erin, I think it’s time I’ve introduced myself. Hello beautiful people, my name is Emily and this is my apothecary! I have been a practicing Pagan (or for a more modern name a Neo-Pagan) for 8 years now and learned so much about myself, the earth, and the universe along the way. I have always been spiritually inclined. I remember when my mom gifted me my first motor and pestle set, that I still have to this day! I would get lost in the backyard picking dandelions, green onions, grass, and flowers so I could use my new present. My mom would find me making my own potions in the backyard, the bathtub, and in my room as well. Needless to say, I drove her crazy as a child, but not much has changed since then! Magic is in everything I do, every breath I take, and everything I put my energy into.
I am currently in progress of getting my certification in Family Herbalism and soon thereafter I will be taking some classes on Aromatherapy. With this new found knowledge, I plan to cheer on my inner child and continue brewing my own potions and spells. I intend to create a space where people can not only trust me and my products, but can vouch for their authenticity and value. I am here to live my dreams and celebrate my inner child, but I am also here to spread love and help people however I can.
I will not add items for sale in this shop unless I am confident that they are made correctly and with good intentions. With that being said, I will only be adding products that I believe in and have personally tested myself. I only want to sell products that I think could benefit a person physically, mentally, or spiritually. So, as you see things being added, please know that means these items are perfected by me for you!
I am 100% online for the time being but I heard a whisper in the wind that this is just the beginning! I plan on spreading love, light, and healing everywhere I can. This is a place where people can find something healing for the mind, body, and soul. And for one of the first times in my life, instead of day dreaming about a life like Erin’s, I get to live it for myself! I get to play the role of the powerful Druid that is full of magic, ready to heal the world!
